Eleanor Hagan PT, MPT, GCS, CEEAA

Ellie is the founder of Body in Balance Physical Therapy & Fitness Center, and the Parkinson’s Life Center of Southern NJ.

Graduating with her Masters’ degree from Stockton University in May of 2000, and with fifteen years of continuing education Ellie delivers a variety of evidence based techniques and exercise protocols to her patients/clients.

Through the APTA (American Board of Physical Therapy), Ellie is a board certified Geriatrics Specialist, and an exercise expert for the aging adult (CEEAA). She is also Schroth trained for scoliosis rehabilitation. Trained by the National Parkinson Foundation’s Allied Team Training for PD (ATTP), she is considered a Parkinson’s expert teaching evidence based programs. Her goals include building a clinic of excellence in her community.

Laura Germanio OTR, RYT, LMT, CLT

Laura graduated with a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Richard Stockton College in 2009. Her experience includes time working in home care, assisted living, adult medical daycare, sub-acute, long term care and out-patient. Laura has been teaching Yoga for over 9 years, including gentle yoga, yin, restorative, partner yoga, kundalini and yoga therapy.  Laura's advanced training includes a certification in mat Pilates, Thai Yoga Bodywork and the Graston Technique, soft tissue mobilization. Laura recently became a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist. She is also working toward a specialization in treatment of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.

Dr. Alyse Kovacsik, PT, DPT

Alyse joined Body in Balance as a physical therapist in January 2015. Alyse graduated from Arcadia University in 2011 with a doctorate in physical therapy. She has experience with a wide variety of diagnoses, with a focus in orthopedics and sports medicine. She is certified in the newest soft tissue technique by David Graston, also known as SASTM (sound assisted soft tissue mobilization) and is studying to become an APTA board certified orthopedic specialist.

Megan Reynolds, MS CCC-SLP

Megan graduated in 2014 from Loyola University with a Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She currently works with geriatrics in a skilled nursing facility and have experience treating dysphagia and cognition/language based diagnoses.  Megan is also certified in Synchrony sEMG guided therapy for patients experiencing dysphagia.

Jose Mercado Jr.

Jose joined Body In Balance as a Physical Therapist Assistant in December 2016. Jose graduated from Atlantic Cape Community College in 2002 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science (Physical Therapist Assistant). He has had various experiences in outpatient orthopedics and patients with TBI's (traumatic brain injury). To further his education, Jose received his LSVT BIG certification in January 2017.

Also, Jose is currently serving in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Mortuary Affair's Specialist and hopes to soon be able to assist in providing physical therapy services for veterans with PTSD. 

Marlie Doriston, BS, CPT

Marlie is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. She assists with patient care and works as the manager of the Body in Balance Fitness Center.

Working in collaboration with the therapists, Marlie leads the maintenance program for past and current patients in need of continued care after medical benefits have been exhausted. She is also a certified personal trainer by the American Aerobic Association International (AAAI). As a kinesiologist, her skills exceed the realm of a traditional personal trainer. She evaluates her client's overall health and fitness, in order to develop a specialized exercise program to increase physical fitness, strength, endurance, balance, and flexibility. Marlie’s exercise programs pay special attention to biomechanics and enhancing human performance. Marlie recently received the following certifications through AAAI: Sports Nutrition Consultant, Group Fitness Instructor and Kids & Teen Fitness Instructor. 

Marlie is also a track and field coach at Mainland Regional High School and aspires to become a physical therapist in the future.

Patrick Mullin, BS, CPT, Pn1

Patrick is a graduate of York College of PA with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and a focus in marketing. He is personal trainer at Body in Balance Fitness Center and also handles the marketing efforts.

Patrick is a certified personal trainer, receiving his certification from the American Aerobic Association International. In this role, he leads clients to successful campaigns by prescribing appropriate exercise programs. He also recommends dietary changes and assists clients with life changing habits so they can best achieve their fitness goals. Patrick tracks and monitors his clients’ progress to continuously challenge the body in a safe manner. He initiates the desired changes in body composition, performance, and health.

Patrick has his own fitness blog and is in his third season as the head JV baseball coach at Holy Spirit High School in Absecon.

Kathy Tierney

Kathy is the Office Manager/Medical Biller. She has over 20 years of experience in the Rehabilitation field. Her experience includes working as a liaison for over 40 offices and managing between corporate offices and field offices. Some of her expertise includes: hiring, firing, and training administrative staff members and consulting.

Sherri Carman

Sherri manages the front therapy office at Body In Balance. She enjoys being one of the first people to greet you with a smile and welcome you to our facility. Prior to finding her new home at Body in Balance, she managed a Chiropractic Center for 13 years and was also a medical assistant to cardiology for 3 of those years. When Sherri is not at the office she is taking care of her two beautiful children and the family's furry friends. She looks forward to meeting you!

Louise Celestino

Louise joined Body In Balance in 2012. She has been a licensed Zumba instructor since 2011 and teaches Zumba and Rhythm Fit dance classes in the Atlantic County area. Recently, she attended the Dance for PD workshop in Brooklyn, New York and currently teaches Chair Zumba on Wednesday mornings and dance for PD on Saturday afternoons at Body In Balance.

Louise loves music and theater and still continues to take dance classes whenever she can.
